Teeth Whitening Process
Consultation
The teeth whitening process starts with a consultation. Your dentist will assess your teeth to determine if you qualify for the procedure. They will then discuss your desired results, the overall cost of the treatment, and the risks associated with the treatment.
Color Detection
Our dentist will use a shade guide to establish the current color of your natural teeth. This helps determine the adjustments needed to achieve the best results.
Preparation
Your teeth will be cleaned to remove any plaque buildup and ensure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for the procedure.
Application
Once cleaning is done, your dentist will apply a chemical whitening agent to your teeth, usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide gel. The dentist will then use ultraviolet (UV) light or laser to activate the gel and accelerate the whitening process. This process takes about 60 to an hour and a half and can whiten your teeth up to eight shades.
Maintenance
With proper oral hygiene practices and a proper diet, teeth whitening results can last up to a year without any problems. However, we encourage you to return to our office for touch-ups after every few months.
